Time Lapse
This is my favourite drawing. It was fun to make but it also still makes me smile every time I look at it...
As an experiment, I added black coloured pencil to the usual pen and graphite pencil selection; It took me 8 of those coloured pencils to complete this A1 piece.
Have you ever felt that there were just not enough hours in the day and have you had people annoyingly tell you: "everybody has the same amount of hours in the day but they can achieve more in that time!"
This is my cheeky way of adding more hours in my day...
When I set off to draw this object, I felt that I could choose what time of the day it was. How long to spend on drawing versus watching tv. What time to get up in the morning before the rest of the house wakes up. If I made a mistake and lost an hour... oh well, let's just imagine it is 4pm again!
In the past, I ran my watch a couple of hours behind, so that I would achieve all my tasks by deadline. I have since realised that time means nothing. It is only as valuable as the importance you attach to it.
Spending an hour with a loved one seems more valuable than an hour waiting in traffic, and yet they are the same 60 minutes.
